Information about the season of 2026
The start of the season 2026 is 26th of June*, and the end of season is 13th of September 2026.
* Note that in case of low water level the start of the season might be postponed.
The boat MB Bitihorn takes you across Bygdin during the summer season from June/July to September. Book a bus to Bygdin pier and continue by boat from Bygdin (within a short walking distance).
From Bygdin (starting at Bygdin Hotel), MB Bitihorn goes through beautiful mountain landscapes to Torfinnsbu and Eidsbugarden. At Eidsbugarden, there are accommodation options at Eidsbugarden Hotel and the Norwegian Trekking Association cabin Fondsbu.
The journey across Bygdin is in itself an amazing trip through landscapes with views of magnificent mountain scenery. It is also the beginning of a journey into Jotunheimen with countless hiking opportunities. The cabin to cabin trek via Torfinnsbu, Fondsbu, Olavsbu, Gjendebu, Memurubu starts with the boat trip across Bygdin.
