Catch the bus to Gjendesheim and Besseggen
Are you planning to go hiking in the mountains this summer? Did you know that you can take the bus to reach excellent starting points for many of Norway's most famous mountains? The hike over Besseggen is one of Norway's most popular mountain routes. You can easily get there by bus from the city, and you arrive well-rested all the way to Gjendesheim Tourist Lodge with Besseggen as a neighbor.

From Gjendesheim, you can join those who start their day with a challenging hike over Besseggen. However, Gjendesheim is also a perfect starting point for many other diverse mountain hikes. You can also travel from here with Gjendebåten (the Gjende boat) over to Memurubu.
