NOR-WAY is upgrading – see what opportunities you get

The NOR-WAY Bussekspress travel booking is getting a new update! As a customer, you will be able to choose the flexibility level of your ticket, reserve seats during and after purchase, and change or cancel parts of your journey or the entire trip. In March, we have a transition period, before we go live in April. In this article we’ll show you more about what you can expect.

When booking your travel for April, you will be able to choose whether to purchase as a logged-in user or as a guest. If you already have a login, this will not work in our new travel booking system. Please create a new login to keep all your tickets in one place.

 

Remember: Save any receipts you need from your current login – your history will be lost in April.

Login and tickets

The first change that will affect you as a traveler is that there will be a distinction between trips scheduled until March 31 and those from April 1, 2025, onwards. This is due to the transition to a new system, which again means you will have to create a new user.

PS!

-        For trips until March 31st, you will continue using the original travel planner.

 

-       For trips from April 1st onwards, you will use our new travel planner.

 

During this period, unfortunately, it will not be possible to book round-trip travels if your departure is in March and the return is in April. You will need to book the trips separately, in the two different travel planners.

Different ticket levels

The second new feature for travelers is that you can now choose between two different "ticket levels" when booking your trip. These are:

 

  1. Standard ticket

  • The standard tickets cannot be canceled after purchase.

  • The standard tickets can be changed for a fee of 39 NOK until one hour before departure (plus any price difference for more expensive journeys).


     

  1.               Flexible ticket

  • Flexible tickets can be both changed and canceled up to 15 minutes before departure (plus any price difference for more expensive journeys) without additional cost.

  • Cancellations will receive a full refund to your payment method.

 

What level you should buy, and what will be your best option depends on what is most important to you. Do you want the cheapest price, or do you want more flexibility to change and cancel with a refund?

Seat reservation

In our new travel booking system, you can choose to reserve your favorite seat on the bus. You can select your seat on the seat map during the ticket booking process. It is also possible to make a seat reservation after you have purchased the ticket. Seat reservations will be available on most of our lines.

 

-              There are two pricing categories for seat reservations.

 

  •           Seat types vary from bus to bus – some buses offer extra comfort.

  •           Seats can be booked for one, several, or all passengers in the booking, or you can choose to skip this step.

  •          Price varies slightly depending on the type of seat you wish to book.

  • If you do not book a seat, one will be automatically assigned to you, which will be shown on your booking confirmation.

The NOR-WAY app

We're currently working on a update for our NOR-WAY app. Currently users will be transferred from our app and over to our website, where purchases will need to be made with a new user log in.

 

You can create a new login on our website. This new login is also valid from April 1st.

Within short time the NOR-WAY app will be updated.

Here are some quick questions and answers about the app:

  • Do I need to download a new app once the update is ready?

No, the existing app will be updated, so you do not need to download it again.

  • Do I need to create a new user?

Yes. Just like on the website, you will need a new user. You will use the same login for both the website and the app.

  • Will I have access to my purchase history, old tickets, etc., after the app update?

No, the same applies in the app as for the website. You will need to create a new login, and any information from your old login will not be transferred. Please contact our customer service if you any questions.
